Give your Dewdropz launch the best chance of success with these tips!

Launching a new initiative can help generate excitement and momentum, but every organization must find the right level of effort that fits its unique culture. Below are a few key steps to ensure a smooth and successful launch of Dewdropz in your team.

1. Create a Dedicated Team for Dewdropz in Microsoft Teams

As mentioned in our Getting Started guide, it’s ideal to install Dewdropz into a new, dedicated team. While you can add the app to existing teams, this can lead to unrelated conversations mixing with Dewdropz activities, and some users might not want to participate in pairings but still need to be part of the main team. A dedicated channel sets clear expectations and creates a focused environment for team interactions.

2. Make Participation Opt-In, Not Mandatory

The choice between mandatory and opt-in participation depends on your team culture and goals. For teams that thrive with a gentle nudge, adding users directly to the Dewdropz team may work well. However, for better engagement, we recommend an opt-in approach, where users voluntarily join after a friendly introduction. People are more likely to stay involved when they feel they’ve made the choice. If you opt to auto-add users, make sure they know they can opt out at any time (the Dewdropz bot also makes this clear).

3. Announce Dewdropz to the Group

The more participation, the better! It’s important to announce the launch of Dewdropz through a company-wide email or team message. Let users know why you’re launching it and how to join. Set clear expectations—where, when, and how often introductions will happen—and emphasize that it’s okay to take time out of their schedule to participate. This message is even more powerful if it comes from a company leader. Feel free to reach out to us if you'd like example announcements!

4. Nominate a Sponsor or Champion

Having a project sponsor or champion is always a good idea to boost success. While Dewdropz requires little maintenance, having someone who gently encourages participation and shares the program's value helps build momentum. This person can also provide valuable feedback to us on how Dewdropz is being received in your organization.

5. Encourage People to Share Their Experience

Boost team spirit by encouraging users to share photos (with permission) from their virtual coffee chats in the Dewdropz team channel. This fosters a sense of community and may inspire others to participate.

6. Take Connection Beyond Pairings

While we’re thrilled you’re using Dewdropz, true connection goes beyond just using the tools—it’s about building a connected culture. Consider organizing in-person gatherings (if possible), share photos of coffee chats, reward active participants, and encourage collaboration. See what works best for your organization, and feel free to share your success tips with us!
